Sorry for the delay, but weeks 5-13 were quite sad and sickly. On Sunday, we officially entered the "honeymoon" phase. This sounds promising, like I should have every reason to celebrate. But first trimester symptoms have not completely eased up yet. It's day by day people.
We heard the heartbeat two weeks ago - and a few good kicks. It was going strong at 155.
Since week 6 I've had a complete aversion to food. And somehow, my 27-year-old sweet tooth has gone bad because the sight of chocolate, pastries or desserts sends me running. Out of sheer nostalgia, I have bought powdered donuts, Krispy Kreme donuts, cookies, ice cream... But after one bite, I pass it along to my husband. So far, I've lost 6 pounds, and my "baby bump"comes and goes, but the doctor says all of this is normal, and there is no reason to be concerned until week 20 if the symptoms keep up.
However, I am convinced that my baby is a Mexican because that's the only food I can eat repeatedly -- other than cereal. Thank you Chipotle and La Casita. Actually, they should be thanking me.
Nesting
Yes, we are building a nest. We are nesting in grays, yellows, white and maybe some additional colors depending on the sex. We've gone with Benjamin Moore paint for the room:![]() |
